Bonfires in our yards are illegal.  We have had at least two this year, and at least one was called into 911.  The fire department responded quickly and put it out.  It is unknown if the other yard fire was reported.  Given the close proximity of our homes, any outside bonfire on our property, less use of enclosed gas/charcoal barbecues, has the potential for property damage to the surrounding homes.  Call 911 if you see a yard fire.
