We have seen increased drug activity in the 17th NE/NE 55th and 16th NE/NE 52nd intersection areas over the last few months. Several arrests have been made but the problem continues. It is believed that due to reduced demand by UW students for rental properties in our area that some properties are being rented out to, in some cases, less than desirable tenants just to bring in income.  If residents see suspicious, in-progress activity in the neighborhood, call 911. In the case of observed on-going drug activity, call the SPD drug unit at 684-5797 and leave a message if necessary.
